A Heartfelt Contribution to the Lichfield Foodbank: 76 Meals for Those in Need
As a church, we are called to love and support our neighbors, especially those who may be struggling. So, I am happy to share a story of how our church community came together in a small but meaningful way to help make a difference. Thanks to the generosity of our congregation and friends at our October Harvest service, we were able to donate 38 kilograms of food to the Lichfield Foodbank – enough to provide 76 meals to families and individuals in need.
Meeting an Immediate Need in Our Community
For many in our community, the food bank is a vital resource, a place where they can find support and dignity during tough times. By donating food, we are helping to meet an immediate need and remind people that they are seen, valued, and loved. Every meal provided through our collective efforts is more than just food on a plate; it’s a message of care and solidarity from us and from the God we represent.
Gratitude for Our Generous Congregation
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each person who contributed to this effort. Your donations, whether large or small, were gathered with the love and commitment that defines our church family. It’s moments like these that remind us of the power we hold when we come together with a shared purpose.
Continuing Our Mission of Service
As we continue to live out our mission, it’s a reminder that our calling to serve extends beyond the walls of our church. Small acts of kindness, like providing a meal, can have a ripple effect that reaches far beyond what we see.
Let us continue to be a church that serves, supports, and uplifts our community like Jesus has taught us to do and as he himself has done for us, no less in the sacrificing of himself for the payment of our sins.
