Sermon Series: King and Kingdom (Gospel of Matthew)
Current Sermon Series: Matthew
In the Gospel of Matthew Jesus says, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven has come near”. He also urges his disciples to proclaim the kingdom of heaven by going and proclaiming, “The kingdom of heaven has come near”. This gospel is all about the kingdom which arrived when king Jesus came to minister on earth and remains to this day through his church. This is about the good king who even to this day reigns over us in love and sacrifice. Such love that he sacrificed himself for us. In this sermon series we will cover such themes as:
- Why did king Jesus come to earth?
- What is the Kingdom of God?
- What is the aim of the Kingdom of God on earth?
- What are the values of the Kingdom and the people of the kingdom?
- How do kingdom people live worry-free and anxiety-free?
- What kind of king is Jesus?
- How does one become a part of the Kingdom?
- How can one live out the Kingdom values in the here and now.
- Who is this king Jesus?
- Why did king Jesus have to die?
- What does the death of Jesus have to do with us today?
